Girth, also known as the thickness of the penis, is an often-overlooked aspect of penile enhancement. When inserted, a thicker penis can lead to a lot more pleasure, and it is something that she will definitely notice.
But men are often begging to have a “longer” penis instead of a thicker one.
We’re going to discuss how to increase girth, and we’ll even explain a few methods that you can start following today to increase your penis growth.
What Is the Average Penis Girth?
Before we can go into any male enhancement exercises, you need to know how much girth the average man has. If you’re extremely thick already, you may not need a thicker penis to rock her world, or you may need to take a different approach to reach your girth goals.
Girth When Flaccid
The average penis girth varies depending on if you’re flaccid or not. A man that is not hard can expect to have a girth of 3.67”. In truth, this doesn’t sound too small at all, but it is much smaller than when a person is erect.
Girth When Erect
When you’re erect, blood fills the penis tissue to help make it hard. This happens naturally when you’re aroused, and it’s undeniable that there is a huge difference in length from when you’re soft or erect.
Girth is also enhanced when a person is hard.
A person that is erect will have a girth of 4.59” on average. This is a rather large jump from girth when flaccid.
Keep in mind that penis size and girth can jump based on a variety of factors: age, weight, genes and so on. If you’re within these average parameters, this doesn’t mean that there isn’t room to grow (wider and longer).
How to Measure Girth
When you want to measure your penis size or girth, it’s important to use the right tool for the job.
Those metal measuring tapes can lead to nasty cuts and bleeding, which is not the ideal scenario.
Instead, it’s recommended that you get a “soft” measuring tape – the kind used for measuring sewing garments.
This will be a bendable, non-metal option that ensures your “little guy” doesn’t suffer any damage in the process.
Once you’ve located or purchased a measuring tape, you’ll want to:
- Wrap it around the thickest part of the penis
And that’s it. Ensure that the measuring tape has lapped over to the start of the measure tape, and note your girth.
If you don’t want or own a measuring tape as listed above, there is another trick that works just as well and will be something you likely have in your home.
For this measuring technique, you’ll need the following:
- – Ruler
- – String
Now, all you need to do is:
- – Place the end of the string at the top of the thickest part of the penis
- – Circle the string around where the string has “met”
- – Mark the point where the string met
You need to measure the distance from the string’s point to where it met when wrapped around the penis. Now, all you need to do is place the string on your ruler to see what your girth is.
Either of these methods work, and for the exercises and methods we’re going to talk about shortly, I recommend that you mark this girth down in a safe place so that you can reference it in the future.
Note: You want to measure your girth when erect. Don’t attempt to do your measuring when you’re flaccid, or the measurements will be disappointing.
How to Increase Girth Naturally
There are pills for increasing girth, but I’ll leave that to you. Many people take pills or even undergo surgery to increase the size of their penis and girth, but that’s not for me. I am not willing to risk my penis function for fast gains.
Slow and steady wins the race.
So, what else can you do to increase your penis girth?
There are a few ways, but we’re going to discuss the most effective methods available to you.
Jelqing for Girth
Jelqing is a technique, or exercise, you can do to enhance your penis. Think of the penis as a muscle that you want to shape.
Well, when you exercise, you learn how to control a muscle better, and you also flood the muscle fibers with blood.
This is a lot like what happens when you get erect.
Blood flows into the penile tissue, causing an erection. It’s a natural development, and you can learn how to use this to your advantage.
Jelqing is a way to move the blood in the penis to effectively:
- – Increase cell division
- – “Stretch” the penis
And you’ll also notice performance gains, which are never a bad thing.
Before you start, there are a few things that we recommend to get yourself prepared:
- – Buy lotions, gel or lube to make this more comfortable
- – Trim any excess hair that may be on your rod
You’ll need to set aside something like 10 minutes when first starting, and some people will go up to a complete 30-minute session. Take it slow and steady to try and gauge how you feel and learn the ropes of jelqing first.
When you jelq, you’ll be “milking” the penis.
Let’s get started:
- #1 – Start with a semi-hard penis. You can’t do this with a full erection, as you may break blood vessels in the process. If you get over the 50% erection mark, you’ve went too far.
- #2 – Make the “ok-sign” with your fingers. This is done with one hand, and will be your main form of jelqing.
- #3 – Add some lube to the base of the penis to make it more comfortable.
- #4 – Use a moderate squeeze and slide the fingers from the base of the penis upward toward the tip of the penis. The key is to do the motion very slowly and to not apply too much pressure.
Pressure is the hardest aspect of jelqing.
You need to squeeze just the right amount, but you should never cause bruising or have too much pain.
The time it takes to do one jelq should be three seconds or so.
You’ll switch hands with each stroke to allow for proper training.
Do not perform a jelq to the tip of the penis
This exercise should be stopped well before reaching the very tip of the penis.

If you’re going to see gains, you need to be serious with your exercises. An ideal schedule will include two days on and one day off. Now, if you’re feeling discomfort, you can jelq for two days and rest for two days, too.
When you first get started, you’ll want to start at 10 minutes for 2 weeks before moving up to:
- – 15 minutes (week 3 and 4)
- – 20 minutes (week 4 if comfortable, or week 5)
And slowly increase the duration of your exercises until you reach the 30-minute mark.
Mixing it up a bit is recommended, too.
You don’t need to use just one method of girth enhancement to see results. People are seeing results every day by mixing up their techniques. We recommend that you incorporate your jelqing exercises with a penis extender device.
